Welcome to ELP. This is a program designed to help all students who are at risk of not meeting the Basic requirements of the annual California Standards Test and not passing the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam). This is mandatory for graduation from High School.

FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: Does my child have to attend?
A: No, but it is in the best interest of all students to enroll in the program. This is yet another effort to provide underperforming students with extra opportunity to score hig on the CST. Please refer to the Memo.
Q: What are the days and hours?
A: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3:15 - 4:45 pm, with the exception of some days, which will be announced in the future, when the final schedule is made.
Q: What do they study there, the same thing as in the classrooms?
A: No, it is an intervention program with different curricula.
Q: How many students are in the classroom?
A: 25-30
Q: Do they get snacks?
A: Yes, students will get snacks, not full meals. They are cracker, pretzels, fruits, and milk.
Q: Is this a tutoring program?
A: No, ELP is an intervention program that is targeted to improve CST test scores of students who are performing Bellow Basic (BB) and Far Bellow Basic (FBB) in Language Arts or Math.
Q: Can my child attend both Math and English?
A: Not during the same session. However, your child may be eligible to attend the other course in the Spring session.
Q: Is there tutoring and can my child attend both?
A: We are currently working on implementing the program. Your child can attend tutoring on the days that there are no ELP classes. We will announce the days.
