The Bancroft middle School Book Club started in 2007. We read two books by a great author named Margaret Peterson Haddix. Her books Among the Hidden and Among the Imposters were great. Come join us for our next literary adventure in September! Have any suggestions for what we should read next?
September 2007--We are starting a new school year and have picked our new book club selection. Our first Book for the year will be a tale of adventure and intrigue called Hatchet by Gary Paulson. Read summary below:
Brian Robeson, 13, is the only passenger on a small plane flying him to visit his father in the Canadian wilderness when the pilot has a heart attack and dies. The plane drifts off course and finally crashes into a small lake. Miraculously Brian is able to swim free of the plane, arriving on a sandy tree-lined shore with only his clothing, a tattered windbreaker, and the hatchet his mother had given him as a present.
